ABOUT NDKKA
Nashik District Kho Kho Association (NDKKA) form in the year 1973 is a registered organization working for the betterment of Kho Kho and players. Last 15 years NDKKA has initiated a program in which they are working on the promotion of the sports culture in Rural-Tribal areasin and around Nashik.​
Struggle, you will find this word at every step in the tribal areas like Peth, Surgana, Trimbakeshwar, Igtapuri, Kalwan & other areas around Nashik. Tough situation, draughts are the regular calamities in the lives of these people. Superstition age-old social norms, and traditions do a major impact on the lives of the girls of this area. They are required to walk for miles to bring a small bucket water to their homes every day and if they get time after this they go to school. With surrounding like this, it is an exorbitant expectation from these girls to perform well in studies or sports. In the process of developing sports player from the Rural area, we realised that team of Boys was doing very well but the Girls team even though having equal potential somehow was not able to won do their best. Our Boys' team state champions in the 14, 17 and 19 years age groups and were runners-up in the 18 years category.
While working in the tribal area we have realised that these young boys and girls have tremendous potential, but they were not able to channelise it fully. Even the proportion of players leaving their career abruptly was also high. After digging deep into this scenario, we found out the reasons, which are in the geographical and social condition of these people.

We were not able to find solutions even after doing a lot of thinking about this issue until suddenly one of our colleagues who is a teacher suggested if we could bring them to Nashik City for schooling then things can improve for them, life was difficult and living was hard for these kids in their tribal area. This idea clicked, but it was not an easy task, lot of brainstorming was done for almost a year. And finally, five years ago the concept came into reality.

Nashik District Kho Kho Association Managed Late Mrs. Surekhatai Bhosale, the Country's Only One Tribal Girls Kho-Kho Prabodhini. Which is now in its fifth year, is running entirely on public subscription & donation.
​
We believe we are the only District Kho Kho association in India that is running this kind of
'Prabodhini' for tribal students without any government aid. Al the money and resources that we have collected from the well wisher from the society who believe that every person must pay back to the society they are living in for the betterment of the new generation.
